ORANGE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a Los Angeles County sheriff's boat scraped a freeway bridge in Orange County, and was kept there for an hour while officials inspected the area.
Orange police Sgt. Dan Adams says the 55-foot gray boat was being hauled, hitched to the back of a truck, when the top of its cabin hit the State Route 22 overpass at about 11:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Adams says the boat was not stuck, but was kept in place so California Department of Transportation officials could arrive to inspect the overpass.
He says the bridge sustained minor damage. Authorities moved the boat around 12:35 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
