Help Clean Up Desert Hot Springs

Posted: Updated:

Riverside County Department of Code Enforcement with the support of the Supervisor Marion Ashley has launched a new program in the unincorporated areas of Desert Hot Springs, The Desert Care Program.

This program invites community residents and volunteers to get involved in creating a community that cares. Desert Care participants are concerned citizens that come together to clean up the front yards of abandoned/foreclosed homes, which in turn enhances the appearance of their communities as well as stabilize property values.

The Desert Care Program was developed and funded by Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Residents in the unincorporated areas of Desert Hot Springs are encouraged to become volunteers.

Cleanups are held monthly and locations vary. The next Desert Care Cleanup will be held on: Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 8:00am to 12:00pm. We will be cleaning up abandoned/foreclosed homes along Bubbling Wells Road (between Camino Campanero & Dillon). The meeting location will be Bubbling Wells Elementary School at 8:00am. Bubbling Wells Elementary School is located at 67-501 Camino Campanero, Desert Hot Springs, CA 92240.

If you would like to become a volunteer or would like more information, please contact Chaka Ferrell at 951-955-5257 or via e-mail at cferrell@rctlma.org. We look forward to your support.
