MODESTO, Calif. (AP) - A Modesto man has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting his parents.
Twenty-5-year-old Cameron Terhune entered the plea Tuesday to two counts of first-degree murder, gun enhancements and allegations of premeditation in the deaths of his parents, 65-year-old Ken and 56-year-old Diane Terhune.
Terhune had earlier pleaded not guilty but changed his plea after prosecutors agreed to drop a special allegation that could have led to life in prison without parole.
Prosecutors say Terhune armed himself with several guns and waited for his parents to come home on the afternoon of Jan. 13, 2009 before shooting his father in the back of the head and opening fire multiple times on his mother.
Terhune is scheduled to be sentenced April 13.
Ken and Diane Terhune owned Vintage Concepts, an online distributor of wine products.
