Anthony Alvarez
Anthony Alvarez is our Morning Anchor. He’s also our morning guest segment and news producer.
He spent two years as our weekend news anchor / producer and VJ reporter prior to his jump onto KMIR6 Today.
He joined KMIR6 in March of 2007 as was hired as a General Assignment Reporter. From there, he moved into the weekend Sports Anchor and Producer position. He was also our first reporter to take-on the Video Journalist position back in August of 2009 by shooting, editing and reporting his own news stories.
Before his arrival at KMIR6 he worked in San Francisco as a freelance still photographer. He also worked in a top-50 news market as a reporter at CBS 47 in Fresno. He reported on several stories in Modesto at the home of convicted killer Scott Peterson. At NBC 11 in Yuma, AZ, he was on the court and crime beat as reporter / anchor.
In Scottsdale, AZ. Anthony began his television career at Cox Cable TV as anchor / reporter for Impact News. It was at Cox Cable where Anthony shined as a Video Journalist. In the same city prior to broadcast news he worked in radio as a mix DJ and on the promotions team at KPTY 103.9 FM.
Anthony still works in radio as an on-air DJ at KPSI Mix 100.5FM on Sundays.
In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, photography and fitness training.
