Indian Wells Theater unveils 2011-2012 concert series
Tickets are now on sale for the 2011-2012 concert series at the Indian Wells Theater at the Cal State San Bernardino Palm Desert Campus.
Jan. 22, 2012 – “A Tribute to the Music of Harry James”
Featuring Troy Clarke and Cassie Miller;
Dr. Jack Poster, former lead trumpet with the Harry James Orchestra (1969-1971), will present hits such as "All of Me," "Days of Wine and Roses," "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" and "Blue Tango."
Feb. 26, 2012 – “Good Guys and Bad Guys: The Music of Spies and Private Eyes”
Featuring Patricia Welch and Bill Kilpatrick
The All Star Big Band will perform songs from favorite spy movies, including classic “James Bond,” “Dragnet” and “The Pink Panther.” Songs include "For Your Eyes Only," "Nobody Does It Better," "Goldfinger," "Live and Let Die" and "The Naked Gun Theme.”
March 25, 2012 – “Broadway Showstoppers from the Golden Age of Broadway Theatre - 1940-1960”
Featuring Kim Huber and Roger Befler
The concert offers an afternoon of music from classic Broadway musicals such as “Oklahoma!,” “Carousel” and “South Pacific.”
Each concert begins at 2 p.m. The Indian Wells Theater is located at 37-500 Cook St., between Gerald Ford and Frank Sinatra Drives.
Season tickets are on sale through Dec. 15. The cost per ticket is $50; however, if all three concerts are purchased together, the cost is only $120, a 20 percent savings.
