To combat abuse and misuse of prescription medications, the Collaborating and Acting Responsibly to Ensure Safety (C.A.R.E.S.) Alliance participants, including National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI), Project Lazarus and Covidien, and in cooperation with the Palm Springs Police Department and American Academy of Pain Medicine, are sponsoring a Drug Take-back Day on Saturday, Feb. 18 and encourage Palm Springs residents to fight prescription drug abuse by safely disposing of unwanted and expired medicines. This event provides six drop-off locations for community members to help prevent diversion, abuse and misuse of these prescription drugs.
