Red Hot Ballroom, an after school dance program for young students in the Coachella Valley, will be hosting the “Battle of the Bands” fundraiser and dance on April 1st, from 1-6 PM, at the Corona Yacht Club, 46-600 Tyler Street, Coachella, CA. Admission is $10 at the door and the fans will be voting for the best band, who will be awarded a $500 prize. The “Red Hots”, a dance ensemble from the Red Hot Ballroom program, will also be performing. The Red Hot Ballroom program, started in 2008 by Bob and Nancy Horn, is a non-profit organization that helps build confidence, discipline, social skills, and respect for others as 4th, 5th and 6th graders from thirty-nine schools throughout the Coachella Valley participate. Several fundraising events help provide dance outfits, including dance shoes, trophies and other awards for hundreds of children. The program begins every October and after twenty-eight weeks of dance instructions, culminates with the District Dance Competitions in May.
