Valley City Partners Will Be Honored At Second Annual Wine-Pairing Dinner Benefiting The Valley's Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity of the Coachella Valley (HFHCV) will host Home for the Holidays, a fundraising event that will pay tribute to all nine Valley cities on Sunday, October 21 at a wine-pairing dinner hosted by Tommy Bahama at The Gardens on El Paseo and Trefethen Winery. The event will take place between 5:00-9:00 p.m. and reservations are available for $150. Tickets can be purchased by calling 760-770-3723 or by visiting the website at www.cvhfh.org/charitydinner. “Every home we build involves a partnership with the city or the county,” said HFHCV Board President Patrick Swarthout. “Our board is pleased to recognize them for all they do to help us make affordable homes possible for deserving families in our community.” According to Swarthout, in addition to the nine Valley cities, special honorees include Noble & Co. Founder and CEO Tom Noble, GHA President and CEO Mario J. Gonzales, and the Home Depot Foundation. Each will receive a plaque at the awards program and recognition will be given to the Berger/Auen Foundation as well. Bank of America will also receive a plaque at the event as part of their check presentation to the Habitat affiliate. HFHCV Executive Director Greg Gaskill said guests will be able to enjoy the beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces at Tommy Bahama on El Paseo during the event. Chef Brian Higgins is preparing a five-course dinner, each course paired with one of the winery’s varieties known for exhibiting “richness with elegance, concentration with finesse, complexity with harmony, and sophistication with approachability.” A 5:00 p.m. reception will also feature a special wine tasting sponsored by Trefethen Winery. Seating is limited and guests are asked to RSVP to Habitat for Humanity by October 15. For more information on the event, please visit www.habitatcv.org.
