Lottery Winners Revealed
The couple who won a whopping $20 million dollars in the California SuperLotto came forward Tuesday. They claimed their prize in front of media from across the Southland.
John and Norma Jean Crippen of Rancho Mirage purchased the winning 20 million dollar Super Lottery Plus ticket at a Chevron Gas station located off Bob Hope Drive and Gerald Ford.
John who is 81 years young. He still works fulltime as a product developement manager and Norma a proud housewife.
They've been married for 60 years and have 2 children and 4 grand children.
John and Norma decided to take the cash value option. A whopping 14.2 million dollars.
John bought 13 dollars worth of tickets every week. He selected his own numbers. He said he looked at the lottery website and chose numbers that were picked the most.
The Crippens accepted the prize today during a press conference in San Bernardino. They'll get the real check in a couple of weeks.
John says he would like to become an entrepreneur and invest in business opportunities in Rancho Mirage.
He is a cancer survivor and is currently in remission. He plans to donate some of the winnings to Eisenhower Medical Center - where he underwent treatment. The two also plan to donate to their church in Indian Wells. In addition to the 14.2 million, John also hit three numbers on another line earning him an extra 3 dollars.
