LA QUINTA - Severe weather conditions, including strong winds and blowing dust, caused officials to suspend tournament play early Saturday afternoon at The Humana Challenge in La Quinta.

Professionals will resume Round 3 in pairs at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 22. Approximate tee times for Round 4 are 10 a.m. to noon off both the first and tenth tees. In order to attempt to complete the scheduled professional competition of 72 holes by Sunday evening, the pro-am section of the competition is now final, reverting to three separate competitions of 36 holes each (i.e.: La Quinta/Nicklaus, La Quinta/Palmer, Nicklaus/Palmer). The Humana Challenge will grant free admission on Sunday to all patrons who held tickets for Saturday’s third round.

The Humana Challenge features a record $5.6 million purse and $1.008 million first-place check. It is held at the Nicklaus and Palmer Private courses at PGA WEST and La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta.
