PALM DESERT - The Sheriff's Department is saying 20 year old Frank Tanuvasa was shot and killed by a Palm Desert police officer during a burglary.
The College of the Desert student and football player was shot and killed yesterday morning
It happened at a home on Michigan Drive in Palm Desert. The Sheriff's Department said an officer responded to a burglary call and saw Tanuvasa running away, after that a struggle began and the officer shot him.
Two other men suspected in the burglary got away.
The officer is on paid-administrative leave.
