INDIAN WELLS - 13 people were arrested during a New Year's Eve safety checkpoint in Indian Wells.
Police say that 5 were arrested for having invalid driver's licenses, while 5 others were arrested for drunk driving. The checkpoint on Highway 111, near Mountain Cove saw over 1,200 vehicles come through in six hours from 9:00pm to 3:00 am.
New Year's Eve is a high profile enforcement evening for local law enforcement across the desert communities.
