 Fire struck an unoccupied home is Desert Hot Springs Wednesday morning, and also threatened a nearby apartment building

The fire, on 2nd Street, was reported just before 8:00am.  Riverside County firefighters had the fire under control within 30 minutes.

The flames did threaten an aparment building next door., but firefighters doused the flames before they took the other building. 

Total losses to the single family home were estimated at $10,000
