An unidentified woman is in critical condition after being hit by a car Friday morning in Bermuda Dunes.
The accident happened on Fred Waring Drive near the intersection of Dune Palm about 11:45 a.m.
According to police, the woman was not using the crosswalk when she was hit while trying to cross Fred Waring.
An off-duty firefighter administered first aid to the injured woman until additional emergency personnel arrived. The victim was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.
