UPDATE: Seven Dead in Bus Crash

 Officials now say seven people are confirmed dead in Sunday's bus crash on Highway 38 north of Yucaipa.  The change is because police say they belived two people were dead on baord the tour bus, but only one was found.

   According to the Associated Press, three of the dead were San Diego residents and have been identified as 13-year-old Victor Cabrera-Garcia, 40-year-old Elvira Garcia Jimenez and 61-year-old Guadalupe Olivas.

   Two victims were Tijuana, Mexico residents: 38-year-old Aleida Adriana Arce Hernandez and 34-year-old Rubicelia Escobedo Flores.

    The bus carrying a group from Tijuana, Mexico, to the San Bernardino Mountains collided with a car and a pickup Sunday night. Debris and body parts created a scene of horrific carnage.

The bus had been revealed to have a troubled mechanical history.  It received eight safety violations by  safety incpseectors in October; includinga history of brake and mechanical issues, fluid leaks and an improperly installed battery.
