COACHELLA VALLEY-- Strong winds are still blowing tonight, causing damage across the valley. The three-day wind advisory is technically over, but some areas are still getting blasted.
This was the scene on Vista Chino Drive in Cathedral City Monday afternoon. High winds and blowing sand made one big mess. The road was closed completely after a power pole blew over.
A semi truck over-turned on the 10E freeway near the Date Palm exit. The passenger in the truck was hospitalized.
California Highway Patrol reminds people on the roadways, to be especially careful in the conditions. Especially as the sun goes down and the winds pick up, pfficials say to stay indoors until this wind storm blows over. And we're not out of the woods yet. There is a high wind advisory in effect until 5pm on Tuesday.
