Passengers have it worse in larger airports
American Airlines computers crash, stranding passengers nationwide Video by kmir6.comvideo
PALM SPRINGS - While thousands of passengers nationwide were stranded when American Airlines' computer systems completely shut down, passengers at Palm Springs International Airport were taking their delays in stride.
The delays began this morning, forcing American to halt all outgoing flights until 2:00pm - effectively grounding their entire fleet.
The computer malfunction left passengers unable to check-in, while customers could not make reservations on future flights.
"Getting here was easy, and I thought with a small airport it would be easy to get out, " passenger Katie Seaman told KMIR. "But no, four hours later, and I'm still here."
It was unsure what caused the systemwide malfunction.
