Rosa Fire Does Slow Burn Near Palm Desert

PALM DESERT - About four acres have been burned in a slow moving fire in the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument southwest of Palm Desert.
The fire broke out around 10:00 a.m. is an remote area of mountian, and had only consumed what was reported as a quarter to half acre by mid afternoon.
Fire crews were being airlifted to the site, which is accessible only by helicopter. There is no estimate for control, but the U.S. Forest service does not expect this fire to grow.
