AMGEN Tour Rolls into The Valley
Second Stage Comes down Highway 74 and Goes to The Tram
The 2013 AMGEN Bike Race is coming to the desert today. There will be plenty of opportunities along the route for the public to view the race. KMIR6 Reporter Angela Monroe has learned there are quite a few amateur cyclists who are riding the route right behind the race for tun!
The following roads will be closed for brief periods of time during these time frames. Note that all times are approximate and road closures will occur at the speed of the bike riders.
2:00 - 3:30pm Palm Desert - Highway 74, Right at El Paseo, U-Turn at San Luis Rey Ave, El Paseo, left at Highway 111
2:10 - 3:45pm Rancho Mirage - Highway 111, Right at Country Club, Left at Morningside Dr., left at Frank Sinatra Dr., Right at Da Vall Dr., left at Dinah Shore Dr.
2:25 - 3:55pm Cathedral City - Dinah Shore Dr. From Da Vall Dr. To Gene Autry Tr. In Palm Springs
2:35 - 4:30pm Palm Springs - Gene Autry Tr., right at Highway 111, left at S. Sunrise Way/S. La Verne Way, left at Toledo Ave., right at Murray Canyon Dr., right at S. Palm Canyon Dr. Palm Canyon Dr. Will be affected through the entire downtown and uptown areas through 3:30p.m.
