RANCHO MIRAGE - Ken Venturi, the long time golfer adn glf brodcaster passed awway Friday in Rancho Mirage. He was 82.
Matt Venturi said his father died in a hospital where he was been being treated for a spinal infection, penumonia and an intestinal infection that he finally succumbed to.
Venturi died 12 days after he was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.
A long time PGA Tour Veteran, Venturi won the U.S. Open in 1964 - his only major title. He is known to the next generation as a insightful golf broadcaster and analyst. He worked in the CBS broadcast booth for 35 years before retiring in 2003.
