Distressed Man Rescued by Border Patrol
JACUMBA - A distressed illegal alien who had been stranded in the mountains for several days was rescued Monday.
According to U.S. Border Patrol agents they received a 911 call from the distressed man around 12 a.m. from the mountains near Jacumba. Rescue crews located the man using a global position satellite coordinates from his cell phone.
Agents were directed to the man's location where emergency medical care was provided. Agents determined that the 35-year-old Mexican man was alert and did not require advanced medical treatment. He was transported to the El Centro Border Patrol Station for processing and further evaluation.
