LA QUINTA - A woman is recovering in the hospital after a shooting at a La Quinta home. The suspect - is also recovering after he was admitted to a hospital with a gunshot wound.
The shooting happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday on the 78-000 block of Sanita Drive. When police arrived, they discovered a 44-year-old woman had been shot inside her home.
The victim provided suspect information, including the suspect's name. The victim was transported to the hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
Police say around 2:15 p.m., Eisenhower Medical Center reported that a man was at the emergency room with a gunshot wound.
The male gunshot victim at the hospital is the suspect described by the female victim. The male is in stable condition. He is being detained and the investigation is ongoing.
