Mom Arrested After Baby Found in Hot Car
JOSHUA TREE - A local woman is arrested after her 9-month-old baby was found screaming in a hot car.
According to the San Bernardino County sheriff's department 26-year-old Winona Albers was booked for investigation of felony child cruelty. She's in jail with bail set at $100,000.
Investigators say the Yucca Valley mother left the car for up to 45 minutes on Tuesday morning while she visited a friend at Sunburst Park in Joshua Tree.
Good Samaritans heard the baby screaming and took the child to nearby air-conditioned offices. The child was later turned over to its grandmother.
