House Fire Kills Family Dogs

DESERT HOT SPRINGS - A fire ripped through a Desert Hot Springs home Monday, displacing the four people who lived there and killing their two dogs.

According to Cal Fire, the fire was reported at 3 p.m. at a home located on 66367 Estrella Ave.

Fire officials say the family inside the home,  three adults and a child, were not hurt.

According to Cal Fire, firefighters were able to contained the blaze to the garage and three palm trees. The fire caused about $50,000 dollars in damage and firefighters were able to save about $80,000 dollars worth of the property.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
