Bodies Found at Joshua Tree National Park Identified
JOSHUA TREE - The Riverside County Sheriff's Department has identified the two people who were found dead in Joshua Tree National Park on Monday.
44 year old Augustinus Van Hove of the Netherlands and 38 year old Helena Nuellett of Germany were tourists who were on their way to Arizona. Investigators say the pair stayed in the Coachella Valley Sunday night.
The couple entered the park sometime Monday morning - the day their bodies were found. Toxicology results are not yet in, but authorities say there are no sign of obvious injury to either person and believe the pair died due to exposure to the extreme heat. The investigation is ongoing.
