Palm Desert Baby Flamingo
PALM DESERT - A cute little flamingo chick has made its public debut in Palm Desert!
The newly hatched baby flamingo is now soaking up the sun at the JW Marriot Desert Springs Resort.
Desert Springs is home to 30 chilean flamingos.
Their distinctive pink coloring comes from their diet of algae, shrimp, mollusks, and insect larvae.
The babies are actually born with a gray color to their feathers.
