PALM DESERT - We are on storm watch as monsoon moisture is making a wet and wild start to your weekend.
Lightning strikes seen Friday afternoon in the hills behind Cathedral City, booming thunder accompanied the light show.
Light rain also reported in most cities across the Coachella Valley as the storms began to intensify late in the afternoon.
Heavy showers fell in Palm Springs and Cabazon.
