Governor Jerry Brown Stops Circumcision Ban
SAN FRANCISCO - Governor Jerry Brown has stopped a move to ban male circumcision in San Francisco.
The governor signed a bill today that prevents local governments from outlawing the practice.
San Francisco was planning to add a proposal for a citywide ban on circumcision to the November 8th city ballot.
But the new law, which takes effect immediately, prohibits that in all of the state's cities and counties.
