INDIO - An Indio family awakens to a car crashing into their home.
According to police - the car ran into a power pole and then hit a house on Avenue 44 - just after 5 a.m. Monday. The family is safe.
But, the driver fled the scene in a white Ford Explorer.
Electric crews were on scene earlier fixing the electrical damage.
