ATM Robbery Suspect on the Loose
A warning for anyone who uses an ATM. A suspect is on the loose after robbing a woman at an ATM in Indio.
It happened around 6 on Wednesday morning at the Altra Credit Union on Highway 111.
Police say a man walked up to her while she was using the ATM in this shopping center, threatened her with a stick or bat and demanded cash.
Women in the area are shaken up fearing this could happen to them.
Police say avoid using ATM's anytime it's dark outside but if you absolutely have to, be hyper aware of your surroundings and if you suspect anything you should always call police.
This is only the 3rd ATM robbery in Indio this year, still residents are being extra careful.
The robber got away with cash and the woman's ATM card. There's no suspect description yet but he was last seen heading south on Madison Street in a dark gray car likely a Dodge Charger or Avenger.
