Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
INDIO - The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission unveiled their new building today. There was a ribbon cutting and ceremony Monday.
Tours were given of the new $11 million building. Supervisor John Benoit was the guest speaker.
"The Rescue Mission's brand-new home will improve the lives of those less fortunate in the Coachella Valley," said Supervisor Benoit.
The shelter replaces a 9,700-square-foot building built in the 1930s which housed 80 people.The new 43,000+ sq. ft. building will be able to house up to 150 people.
The building includes classrooms, counseling rooms, a computer lab and a larger kitchen with dining facilities. The men, women and family shelters were also expanded and will continue to help those in need.
