Fatal Shooting Investigation in Cathedral City

CATHEDRAL CITY -  A man suspected in the shooting death of a 31- year-old Cathedral City man was arrested Friday morning in Desert Hot Springs. Armando Flores Carrillo, 32, surrendered to police peacefully from a home on the 13500 block of El Rio Lane, Cathedral City police Lt. Charles Robinson said.

The shooting happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving in the parking lot of a business on the 68100 block of Ramon Road in Cathedral City. The victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Office. The man's identity is not yet public as officials are still trying to notify family members.

Detectives worked the case overnight, conducting early morning surveillance on a residence on El Rio Lane, Lt. Robinson said. Police arrested Carrillo and served a search warrant at his residence for evidence. Police have not yet release any details regarding a possible motive for the shooting.
