Kids In Need Prepare To Shop With A Cop
RIVERSIDE COUNTY - The Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Palm Desert Station is gearing up for its 3rd annual "Shop with a Cop" Program. Deputies and officers from the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station, Palm Desert Police, Indian Wells Police and Rancho Mirage Police will accompany children to Walmart in Palm Desert Saturday, December 10 to participate in a Christmas shopping day.
School Resource Officers, Child Protective Services and deputies who participate in local Community Oriented Policing programs have selected several children and families who will benefit from the special attention. The children will interact with deputies at their own personal Safety Fair which will include members of CAL Fire. Deputies will then assist the children as they select toys and other items to help make their Christmas wishes come true.
