Indio Man Dies in Car Crash
COACHELLA - A 33-year-old Indio man was killed and another person hospitalized in critical condition in a crash Sunday in Coachella.
The crash occurred at 12:25 a.m. on Grapefruit Boulevard, just north of Avenue 49.
The driver of the sedan lost control of the car and struck the center median causing it to roll over.
Firefighters freed the two occupants trapped in the car and the coroner pronounced one of them dead at the scene at 12:47 a.m. The other occupant was transported by air to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The dead man's name was withheld, pending next of kin.
