MORONGO VALLEY - One person was killed in a head-on collision on Highway 62 Thursday.
Police say the crash happened at 12:17 p.m. on the Twentynine Palms Highway west of Lanning Lane.
Three more people were hurt and a Mercy Air helicopter was called in to fly the driver of a Saab sedan to Desert Regional Medical Center, police say.
All lanes of Twentynine Palms Highway were closed to traffic for several hours.
