PALM DESERT - Thursday morning a supreme court judge ruled in favor of a law Governor Brown signed. It's allows him the right to shut down redevelopment agencies and use their money to balance the state budget. Riverside County Supervisor John Benoit says the move hurts valley residents more than it helps.

Hear Benoit's reason by clicking onto the attached video.

Projects already approved through the RDA will finish, but after that, some 400 offices could shut down. Governor Brown said "Thursday's ruling guarantees funding for schools and public safety; more than a billion dollars worth." Right now Brown is facing a $13 billion budget deficit.
