Festival's Stars Bringing out More Business
PALM SPRINGS-- The Palm Springs International Film Festival is bringing in tens of thousands of tourists, and could mean big business for local shops and restaurants in Palm Springs.
"We have a lot more pickups here in Palm Springs thanks to the film festival," said Lois Cannata, Fleet Manager for Adventure Hummer.
It's the second full day of the film festival and that means no shortage of red carpets, film screenings and celebrities.
"I want to see one. I've been hoping to see one," said Sharon Gonzalez, a Bartender at NYPD in downtown Palm Springs.
More patrons are visiting Azul restaurant in downtown Palm Springs.
"A lot of tourists and some locals come out to see all the stars that come out to play in Palm Springs," said Tim Barton, manager at Azul.
And those celebrities have to eat right?
"If they walked into our bar that would be amazing. Do I think it's going to happen? I highly doubt it. People are going to be with their security guards all week," said T Donaldson, manager of Over the Top Sports Bar.
Locals should keep their eyes open for Glen Close, Michelle williams, Charlize Theron, George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
