Christopher Plummer won best supporting actor in a drama for his role as an elderly widower who comes out as gay in Beginners.
On the television side, the ABC hit Modern Family won the Golden Globe for best tv comedy or series.
Kelsey Grammer, famous for his comedy work, won best actor in a television drama for his starring role as a corrupt Chicago mayor in Boss.
Laura Dern won for best actress in a tv series or comedy for Enlightened.
The best tv drama went to Showtime's Homeland.
