Gene Autry Trail opens in Palm Springs
PALM SPRINGS - Palm Springs police opened one lane of Gene Autry Trail Wednesday afternoon, four days after it was closed by severe winds.
Police did not have an estimate for when the remaining lanes would be opened.
The thoroughfare to Interstate 10 was shut down Saturday after severe winds blew through the Coachella Valley.
Fifteen wooden power poles were damaged by the storm, and Southern California Edison worked around the clock to fix it, police said.
