Valley Residents Deal With Chilly Weather, Snow Covered Mountains

Seasons Greetings: Cool weather, clouds and snow covered mountain tops greet Coachella Valley Residents Thursday morning.
COACHELLA VALLEY - Wednesday night's rain storm brought along cooler temperatures and even snow in the higher elevations. Residents woke up Thursday morning to snow covered mountain tops and temperatures in the high 40s and low 50s.
Several Coachella Valley residents tell KMIR6 they don't mind the cool weather and the snowy mountains, saying it's a nice change from our usual sunshine and warm days.
Wednesday's wind and rain did bring along some problems, mostly in the form of power outages in Palm Desert and Desert Hot Springs. A representative from Southern California Edison says at the peak of the outages Wednesday night there were nearly 5,000 customers without power in the two cities. As of 8 A.M. Thursday, 956 customers in Palm Desert and 43 customers in Desert Hot Springs were still without power.
The National Weather Service says a wind advisory is in effect for Coachella Valley and Riverside County mountain areas through 7 A.M. Friday with possible gusts of up to 45 mph.
