Alarm Owners in Indio to Face Stiffer Penalties
INDIO - Owners of alarm systems are now facing stiffer fines for false alarms.
The Indio City Council unanimously approved a new alarm policy making buisnesses and homeowners more responsible for false alarms that take away police resources.
Alarm system owners will be charged a $100 fine for each false alarm in one year after the first false alarm.
The current penalty is $50 - $25 plus a $25 administrative fee - after the fourth false alarm.
