INDIO - Coachella Valley's largest city just got larger. The city will now be providing services to a once unincorporated community and that means more people turning to Indio police for help.

"The police department we will start patroling and answering the calls for service in this area," said Ben Guitron, PIO for the Indio Police.

The Indio police will patrol the area, between Madison Street and Clinton Street and South of Indio Boulevard and North of Palmwood Drive.

"I don't care for the city I would rather just keep it the county, cause all our taxes are going to go up," Barbara Ruiz, whose lived in the unincorperated area for 52 years.
