INDIO- The Coachella Valley Rescue Mission held its grand opening today,
giving donors and the public a chance to see their new facility.
Lisa Foster and her baby Maya have called the Coachella Valley Rescue
Mission home for two months.
"I came with nothing and they provided everything for me and my daughter," said Foster.
CVRM has provided Foster and her baby a bassinet, a stroller and the support a mother needs.
"I don't feel alone like I did before. I have help here," said Foster.
This grand opening day the volunteers and staff celebrated the new and larger facility. It's now able to house 200 people and feed 600 people a day.
"We are honored to be here and take in people who are desperate and in need of hope and a life change," said Executive Director, Darla Burkett.

It took five years and more than $9 million dollars to make the new facility possible.
"it took a lot of prayer, a lot of fundraising and just a ton of
help from the desert community," said Burkett.
Supporters came out and were able to buy pavers for $500, which will go towards helping pay off CVRM's $1 million loan.
"I have a lot of hope in my heat now, lot of hope and a lot of
faith that things are going to get better," said Sarah Earheart who lives at the mission.
