Top 8 Women in Tennis Open Up About BNP Paribas
INDIAN WELLS--The main draw continued Wednesday at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
KMIR 6's Adrianna Weingold went one on one with the top 8 women's players Wednesday about the tournament and what it's going to take to win.
Defending BNP Paribas Open champion Caroline Wozniaki on the practice courts Wednesday, gearing up for a week of hard work.
"I just need to play well and try to enjoy everytime you step out on the court and we just have to wait and see what happens," BNP Paribas Defending Champion Caroline Wozniaki said.
"Happy to be back and starting over again but it's going to a long road before playing this final once again but i'm ready for it,"said number 7 in the world, Marion Bartoli.
Bartoli was inched out of the title last year, now, number 7 in the world, she's hoping to take it this year. So is number one in the world Victoria Azarenka.
"There are a lot more people who want to beat you and knock you off that spot but it's a great challenge to have and i'm looking forward to the journey," said number one player in the world, Victoria Azarenka.
"I just hope i can continue playing good tennis and i'm looking forward to playing here," said number 5 Agnieszka Radwanska.
"It's a big tournament and it's important to win some points so i mean all of us we try our best," said number 3 player Petra Kvitova.
2011 player of the year Petra Kvitova anxious for her chance to take on number 2 in the world Maria Sharapova, many favoring Sharapova as this year's winner.
"When i won this title a few years ago it was so great because i got so much experience and confidence coming from Indian Wells also to a big tournament in Miami, there's a really big back to back tournaments for us so I think it really carried over for me for the rest of the year," said number 2 in the world, Maria Sharapova.
Li Na coming off of a recent back injury, confident time off will put her back in the game, but she has some tough competition coming from australian favorite Samantha Stosur.
