THERMAL - A man is in custody Saturday for stealing a car and then leading law enforcement on a chase.
According to California Highway Patrol, the chase started around 1 p.m. near a mobile home park off Airport Boulevard. Police started chasing a stolen green Jeep, and during the pursuit, a CHP officer's cruiser collided with the stolen vehicle.
The suspect eventually came to a stop near Highway 86, at Avenue 57 and then took off running back toward the mobile home park where the chase started.
Police then found him hiding in a mobile home.
The suspect's name has not yet been released.
