INDIO - Police say a man is dead after he was struck by a truck while crossing the street. It happened on Fred Waring and Clinton Street in Indio Saturday night..
According to police, two men were crossing Fred Waring and possibly jay walking, when a white pickup truck struck one of the men.
That man was rushed to JFK Hospital, where he later died.
Police say he was a 55-year-old Alejandrino Buelna.
The other man is unharmed. Police say the driver of the pickup is shaken up and cooperating.
No word yet on if drugs or alcohol were involved. Police are still investigating, and have not released any names at this point.
