Dinah Shore Weekend Kick Off Ceremony

PALM SPRINGS - The Dinah is back! 
 
Mayor pro tem Ginny Foat will kick off the opening of the 22nd annual Dinah Shore Weekend in Palm Springs with a proclamation ceremony on Thursday, March 29 proclaiming Club Skirts founder Mariah Hanson, the promoter of a plethora of pool parties and entertainment built around the Kraft Nabisco Championship as the City's Honorary Deputy Mayor.
 
The 1:30 p.m. ceremony will be held at the Riviera Resort & Spa, 1600 N. Indian Canyon Drive. 
 
"I'm thrilled to receive this wonderful honor from the City of Palm Springs," said Hanson. "The Dinah is now a hugely profitable and world-famous 22-year tradition -- and we're here to stay." 
 
Every year Dinah Shore weekend, March 28 - April 1, attracts national and international attention to the Palm Springs destination and brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars to the City's economy. 
 
This year Club Skirts will host its 22nd Annual Dinah Shore Weekend bash at the Palm Springs Convention Center beginning at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 31 with the "Dinah Goes to Rio" dance party," featuring headliner Chaka Khan, known for such hits as "I Feel for You," "Tell Me Something Good" and "I'm Every Woman."
