The producers of Coachella Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach Festival are buying the Eldorado Polo Club and other nearby properties.
The festivals are held on the neighboring Empire Polo Grounds.
Goldenvoice confirmed they are buying 280 acres of property, but haven't said yet what they plan to do with it.
But as the producers of one of the world's biggest music festivals, the plans are sure to be big.
"Each year it just gets bigger and better," said Indio resident, Domingo Winstead.
Coachella Music and Arts Festival gets bigger every year, expanding to two weekends this year, and now the news of their big land purchase.
"Goldenvoice I know is looking not only to purchase the property for the concerts, but make it a year-round destination," said Indio Mayor Glenn Miller.
Polo will continue at Eldorado Polo Grounds, but there could be some big changes.
"Hopefully to develop either a hotel properties that they can utilize not only in concerts, but year-round, maybe some new smaller concerts, either hispanic, country-westerns, smaller ones or even some jazz and musical festivals," said Mayor Miller.
Which means possibly more music and traffic, but nearby neighbors we spoke to didn't mind.
"I mean everybody's been really polite and they always ask you if they can park here, and it hasn't been an issue," said Winstead.
"Busy traffic but not a problem after the first day they get settled, and its not anything coming through, and we've not heard a lot, unless we come outside we don't hear it very much," said Judith Blackwell, who has lived near the polo grounds for 30 years.
Neighbors said the sound of that music means more money throughout the city.
"Well it brings revenue to the city, so that helps too," said Blackwell.
"It's going to bring people from all over the world, even more so I think it's going to get bigger each year," said Winstead.
The Goldenvoice presence is getting bigger in the valley, and Indio city officials hope to sign a longer term agreement than the current two-year agreement.
"Hopefully anywhere from ten to fifteen years, I know they would like that too, they've made a huge investment, not only in the Coachella Valley, but the city of Indio, and we're looking for a long-term partnership with them," said Miller.
Mayor Glenn Miller also said we can expect to hear more about Goldenvoice's plans for the property probably after this year's concerts are over.
