County Offers Free Pets at Match-a-Thon
RIVERSIDE COUNTY - Riverside County Animal Services is offering free pets on Saturday during its Mega Match-a-Thon adoption event.
The special, free-pets promotion marks a first for Riverside County Animal Services.
The county is able to make this historic offer to its pet fans after the American Society for
the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) awarded Riverside County with a one-time grant. The
$10,000 grant is helping to offset the adoption event.
The Mega Match-a-Thon adoption event is running at the county's two largest shelters: The Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms (72-050 Pet Land Place, Thousand Palms, 92276) and the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter in Jurupa Valley (6851 Van Buren Blvd., Jurupa Valley, 92509).
Adopters must be 18 years or older and provide a valid state-issued identification. Adopters do not
have to live in Riverside County to qualify for an adoption. However, adopters in unincorporated
county areas and residents of Riverside cannot adopt if they already have the four-dog limit.
The county shelters are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the event.
