PALM DESERT- Some deserving seniors were honored Friday for the great works that they do across the Coachella Valley.
The 2012 Senior Inspiration Award reciepiects were honored in front of a sold out crowd at the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert. The event is now in its 20th year.
Riverside County and the Coachella Valley's nine cities each select a senior citizen 70 years and older who is active in the community through volunteerism.
The 2012 honorees are - Ofelia Salas and Leslie Surlow, Harry and Judie Stone, Jesus Mota, Rose Hargand, Phoebe Biscow-brown, Ray Halliday, Ann Kosich, Millie Bird, Mickey Shepard and Roslyn Gayler.
